The new ‘’ tablets are priced at Rs 0.60 per tablet, while the branded version, Viagra, will cost Rs 0.80 per tablet.
The drug’s sales are in the Rs 2,600-plus crore range, while Viagra generates nearly Rs 3,000 crore in sales.
The drug’s main ingredient, Sildenafil Citrate, is used to treat male impotency in men. Its main component, dapoxetine, is also used to treat erectile dysfunction in men.
